The Textured Wrap

A collaboration with Whistle and Wool and LionBrand Yarns

When LionBrand released its new yarn “Color Theory yarn” I instantly fell in love with it. This is an acrylic yarn and I’m a huge fan due to my wool allergies. Designer Alexandra Tavel from Two of Wands and Lion Brand Yarn spent countless hours developing this fiberlicious delight. I seriously never had any doubts this would be amazing yarn.

So, one day I was chatting with Angie from Whistle and Wool and we thought … how fun would it be to collaborate on a design. The ideas starting flying around and we decided on a wrap/shawl.. from there we decided that I would knit and she would crochet the wrap design. We swatched and frogged so many stitch patterns when deciding which crochet and knit stitches looked the most alike and were reversible.

Angie was the Yin to my Yang or maybe I was the Yin to her Yang!

Then came the fun of deciding on which colors to use!! The colorways are all so good. LOL!! Angie and I both love neutrals and we also wanted a Pop of Color!! So we decided to go with a 4 color combo.

Let the fun begin!

Oh wait just a minute, let me tell you a bit about this yarn, beside the fact that it has the most amazingly soft feel and drape.

Color Theory yarn is crafted from machine washable and dryable 100% easy-care acrylic. This is a classic CYC#4 worsted weight yarn making it perfect for wearables and accessories.

Color Theory yarn is available in 18 colors, and trust me there are no wrong color combinations, the colors all compliment each other so well…. Alexandra is a color wizard and she made sure of that.

Last but not least… naming these wraps? My designs get very basic names. The Textured Wrap. Boom done. It is what it is. LOL! Angie on the other hand has a wonderful story about how she named her Cirrus Wrap. You can check it out on her blog post.

Last but not least, thank you to Lion Brand Yarn for all their support, and to Angie for her amazing friendship.
